This collection of work is done in watercolor on paper. The pieces have been mounted on wood panels and then varnished for protection. I like this method of display because I think it shows the subtlety of the medium that can produce soft blending, fine details, and unique textures. The work was done over the past 8 months and is based on subjects seen in the Jackson State Forest, the Mendocino Botanical Gardens and in my own front yard. I consider this body of work to be an homage to nature.
Meet the artist on Second Saturday, September 12 from 5-7pm. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday 11-4pm.
